Round 1 - Race Report - Forest Edge Kart Club

 Dan Bushell

 Chris Wright

 Brandon Grinter

What an enjoyable weekend for all the Rotax 177 drivers who attended the first round of the Inter Clubs Series. There were 38 entrants in total, necessitating 4 heats and both A and B Finals. The huge number of entrants meant that there was a lot of close racing going on all the way down the grid which was a refreshing change from the normal grids of 5-10 at most clubs.

Congratulations go to Dan Bushell, who won the 177 Inter Clubs Final, and Paul Cook, who won the 177 Masters Inter Clubs Final.

Some great overtaking in the heats saw Chris Wright qualify on pole and 2nd place in the Final means he leads the championship after Round 1 ahead of Final winner Dan Bushell. Brandon Grinter had a great drive in the Final showing some of his pace to get the final podium spot. Matt Barnes finished 4th ahead of local boy Oliver Smith in 5th, just ahead of teammate Dominic Russell in 6th. In Masters it was Adrian Williams who qualified on pole but it was Paul Cook who took the win ahead of Paul Bell with Adrian Williams finishing in 3rd.
